KIV/IDT Implementace datových struktur (2022 LS)

Cílem předmětu je demonstrovat způsoby implementace základních abstraktních datových typů, tj. zásobníku, fronty, seznamu, tabulky, prioritní fronty, stromů, grafů a dalších. Klíčovým nástrojem je koncept výpočetní složitosti, který bude podrobně formálně zaveden a diskutován ve všech praktických případech. Předmět je nadstavbou pro KIV/ADS, dává studentům vhled do způsobu jak jsou základní abstraktní datové typy běžně implementovány a jaké mají konkrétní implementace vliv na jejich vlastnosti.

Geoglobalistics_Kiptenko

The Geoglobalistics couse is aimed to provide an understanding of interdisciplinary theoretical foundations of geoglobalistics and spatio-temporal transformations of the world system and the ability to solve complex problems and applied problems in the field of political geography and geopolitics, which involves research and/or innovation under uncertain conditions and requirements.

Admission requirements:

1) Basic knowledge of the theoretical foundations of global and regional geography, regional and country studies, geography of the world economy, and socio-economic geography of the world;

2) Basic skills in comparative geographical analysis, notation, and review of literary sources

Course summary:

The course traces the essence of the theoretical foundations of geoglobalistics, considering, in particular, the essence of the concepts of globalization and globalism: evolution, causal effects of global transformations; theoretical approaches and schools of global studies; spatiotemporal and geospatial principles of the geographical approach in global studies; object-subject essence of geoglobalistics and its place in the discourse of global research; systemic dimensions of globalization; geospatial measurement of global problems and the consequences of globalization; essence and methods, application of critical thinking techniques and interdisciplinary research on globalization discourse. The course is taught in English.

SPATIAL DIMENSION OF POWER IN THE GLOBAL WORLD (provisional course outline)

This course reflects on the complex nature of political power as a form of relations between people on various levels (individuals, communities, places, countries, regions etc.) and on the ways, in which power manifests itself spatially.

Whether it stems from state military might, national government authority, economic capabilities of a large multinational company or charismatic personality of a religious leader, power always reveals itself in relation to boundaries, places, territories, networks, decision-making centres etc., all of which can be shown on map and, indeed, give meaning to social and political space.

Political geographers have extensively addressed the topic of power, its forms and spatial manifestations. In this course we will try to navigate through the intricate representations, make them simpler to comprehend and take one step further by putting them into a more practical context of analysis and decision making.
